The Absolute BEST (and worst) Kitchen Appliance
Bite This: According to the USDA, about 1.53 billion gallons of ice cream and related frozen desserts were produced in the US in 2011. In 2013 I alone will add another billion to that.
Thanks to my mother-in-law and the casino that she frequents, we inherited a brand new Cuisinart ice cream maker. And this is the best appliance I have ever owned. Now, I am not one to go out of my way to get ice cream, and I never purchase it at the grocery store, but ever since we received this beautiful gift, I have felt the need to eat ice cream every. single. night.
Turns out that making ice cream is not as simple as it seems. It takes a lot of time. And anticipation. But it's so worth it. Something about making my own ice cream also makes it seem like a spoonful here and there have a lot less calories than store-bought ice cream. But who am I kidding?
